It is Saturday morning and in my house we always have a fun breakfast on the weekend! As I watch my husband make Trader Joes Pumpkin Pancakes (thank you JB!) I wanted to jot down what my top 5 kitchen tools for breakfast (note I linked items to my Amazon page):
- Griddle – I love having one built into our range but I think an electric griddle or a griddle pan are all quality items to have for breakfast making mornings. We always use ours to make pancakes but there is also a variety of uses from bacon to French toast to lunch and dinner items also!
- Coffee Maker (or teapot if that’s your preference) – There are so many varieties I am a huge espresso fan so I personally love my Breville Barista Pro machine but I also enjoy a French press for regular coffee. I recognize that an espresso machine is $$$ but for me it was an investment for the long-term to avoid going to Starbucks for coffee and spending $5/cup.
- 2 Key Utensils – Whisk and Spatula – Aside from the pain of storing whisks (and cleaning them), I feel a whisk is a MUST for fluffy scrambled eggs, omelets, pancakes, etc. I don’t feel this is something that you need to spend a ton of money on…I bought mine 8 years ago from Ikea for probably $4 and it works great! And the spatula speaks for itself…it’s an all-around great tool for the kitchen whether you’re making pancakes, biscuits, etc.
- A Mixing Bowl – these end up accumulating in my kitchen but you really only need one quality mixing bowl (medium size) and it will serve you well across all cooking adventures.
- Small Nonstick Frying Pan – from eggs to sausage to sauces, a small frying pan is essential for your kitchen and can be so helpful when making a yummy breakfast.
It goes without saying that each person has their preferences and these are just my top 5 tools for breakfast. Let me know in the comments what are your top tools for breakfast! xo, LL
