Welcome to Little Libbie!

Hey, you made it! Come on in and stay awhile.

Welcome to Little Libbie—I’m so glad you’re here! This little corner of the internet is all about celebrating the joy that happens at home, in the kitchen, with family, and in the heart of motherhood.

What started as a blog where I shared my love for cooking, hosting, and the cozy little moments at home has evolved along with me. From a young age, I’ve always found peace and creativity in the kitchen—it’s the heart of my home where everyone gathers, and where I can unwind, reflect, and connect with the people I love. But as my life has changed (hello, motherhood!), so has this space. Now, it’s a place where I share the many joys, challenges, and beautiful messes of raising little ones, balancing home life, and learning to savor the simple moments in between.

I know not everyone shares the same love for cooking (or even the kitchen itself), so whether you’re a seasoned chef or a beginner, or maybe you’re just trying to survive dinner time, Little Libbie is here for all of it. I created this space to offer inspiration, encouragement, and some real talk about life, food, and family—because, let’s be honest, motherhood and home life are never perfect, but they’re always worth it.

Here’s a little peek at what you’ll find around here:

  • Motherhood & Parenting: From the early years to the everyday moments that make it all so rewarding, this is where I share tips, reflections, and advice on raising little ones, plus insights into the messiness of mom life.
  • Home Life & Family: Practical tips for organizing and maintaining your home, creative ways to spend time together as a family, and advice on how to make your home a warm, welcoming space for everyone.
  • Food & Cooking: Honest recipe reviews, quick weeknight meals, and fun cooking projects that I tackle with my family. Whether you’re in need of a new recipe or tips on how to involve your kids in the kitchen, this is your go-to spot.
  • Dear Little Libbie: A space where I answer life’s big (and small) questions with honesty, humor, and a little bit of heart. Whether it’s about navigating motherhood, managing a home, or reflecting on the ups and downs of life, this is where I share my thoughts and offer advice that’s as real as it gets.
  • Life & Lessons: Personal reflections on growing as a mom, homemaker, and woman. Here, I share lessons from the everyday moments that shape who we are.
  • Product Recommendations: My favorite finds for moms, babies, and the home—everything from kitchen gadgets to must-have baby gear.

My goal is to make this a warm, welcoming, and authentic space where we can all learn, laugh, and grow together. Whether you’re here for cooking tips, parenting advice, or just a little bit of inspiration, I hope Little Libbie feels like a place you can always come back to.

Poetry and Reflections While my Baby has a Fever

There’s nothing that can quite prepare you for motherhood. Last night, my baby had a 104 degree fever. So I spent the wee hours of the morning holding him and rocking him. While I held him, I was reflecting and wanted to document how I felt as a new mom in this situation. I’ve never…

5 Postpartum Purchases I Didn’t Think I’d Need (But Totally Do)

As a new mom, I learned to avoid unnecessary baby products before my baby’s arrival to reduce clutter. After three months, I’ve found five surprising postpartum essentials: a warm robe, a sitz bath, a versatile pumping bra, cotton nursing camisoles, and a tiny tripod for photos. Every mom’s experience is unique, and I recommend waiting…

Ok I’ll admit that I’m a bit of a clean freak – there is something satisfying to me about a freshly vacuumed carpet. Cleaning is a way I decompress sometimes and I’ve always had a weird fascination with it. Being in a clean space really helps me clear my head and impacts my mental health.…

There are various things I have learned in the past 3 months that have kept me sane with a newborn. It’s amazing how each hour can be long but then all of a sudden I’m putting my little one down for bedtime. The days are going so fast that I feel like the things I’m…

Childcare Anxiety: A New Mom’s Feelings

It’s not a secret that new parents are tired…babies are hard! As I sit down for breakfast this morning with my little one sleeping in the Solly carrier (after a surprisingly calm night last night), I was thinking about how my life has changed in the past 6 weeks. It has changed in the most…

I have always loved cooking, baking, and parties which is why I started this Little Libbie blog – to bring out the little joys I experience everyday in the kitchen and in my home and share those with others. I was on a roll with trying new things and baking earlier in 2024 (especially with…

My First Sourdough Loaf!

I had to write a quick update on something I’ve been working on for the past month…SOURDOUGH! I know…it seems like a long time to make one loaf of bread but this was a learning process and it took me some time. Below I’ve shared more about why it took me so long, info about…

Recipe Review: Sourdough Discard Pretzel Bites

Hello! If you’ve been with me on my journey for a little while, you know that I have been on a journey in 2024 to make my very own sourdough starter. It has took a while for the starter to get ‘ripe’ but I am still trying to work with it regularly so it can…

Should you really boil wooden utensils often to clean them?

I can’t tell you how many instagram videos I’ve seen about boiling your wooden utensils for a ‘deep clean.’ Honestly, the idea has never crossed my mind before seeing these videos which maybe is repulsive or maybe it’s just the usual expectation for wooden utensils. I clean my utensils with soap and water…is the water…

My First Sourdough Bagels

This year I have gotten the urge to figure out sourdough. I have so much to learn about bread making in general, but sourdough seems extra special and interesting to figure out. I finally got a ripe starter this week (this is another story in itself!) and thought it would be fun to try out…

Recipe Review: Sourdough Discard Pull-Apart Garlic Bread

I have been on a journey so far this year to make my very own sourdough starter. This process is interesting and is helping me learn but I felt wasteful just dumping so much discard to make room for the new feeding. I started doing some additional research (sourdough is totally new to me), and…

Refreshing a Winter Wreath

Does anyone else have a wreath that has just lost its touch? I have one that I think is super versatile and cute for winter but, in the past season, cute little birds decided that the berries looked tasty and started pecking at them. Thus, my wreaths now lost its luster. The berries are just…
